few days ago, the minister Andre Antoine introduced Masterplan Perwez (available here ).
This plan has the great merit to address consistently the goal of revitalizing the center Perwez who badly needs but has a big gap. It does nothing to improve road safety. Carl Cambron has discussed the installation of two radars but only on the floor of Charleroi (currently being installed). That's it.
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is expected to reduce the speed rue Saint Roch, while a police test showed that 84% of vehicles fail to comply not the speed limit - 10% over 100km per hour! Given the number of offenses and the increased traffic expected with the new zoning, the radar installation, in addition to improving security, so should not cost the taxpayer.
For years (167 weeks at the counter) we continue to request a speed limit and a ban on trucks in the Rue St. Roch. Each time the municipal and regional authorities remain deaf to the demands of residents and will not take responsibility we retorting an easy "it is not me, it's him," "there is no budget." ... and what needed to happen happened. A motorcyclist has recently been found seriously injured in the street. This might have been avoided if we had listened to the people.
The masterplan envisages the creation of a crib in the streets. Good luck to the parents who must leave their children in their car with vehicles passing in a whirlwind few inches of them!
