Rue Saint Roch is an urban freeway. Evidence counts

Dear neighbors,

Our petition to reduce speed is well justified, here is the proof by the numbers.

From February 1 to 20 speed analyzer was installed in the Rue St. Roch and the results are staggering ...!

24.000 vehicles passed on the street, or 1200 per day (And it was the holiday of Carnival!)

84% WERE NOT IN THE SPEED LIMIT .

10% STOCK OVER 100KM / H . And yes you read correctly!

Most vehicles "long" (trucks and buses) were driving between 60 and 70km / h.
All this in a street that does not even 5m wide.

Things will they finally move now that everyone is well aware of the risks to vehicles and families?

Mr. Mayor we reported that the municipality has ordered a radar to be installed in the street. We thank him for this initiative but it is not enough. To be truly effective, it must be combined with the draft of the policy which aims to reduce the speed physically. Yet we are told that this solution would probably take several years because ... MET, owner of the street.

Would we go again in the unhappy chorus of the famous "it's him not me"?
We find it hard to believe and we are confident that the proposals of the police and the town will soon be installed.
In two weeks it will be 4 months since the petition was filed.

Veterans Day Flower Pin

Minister Antoine handle the case.

Minister Antony sent us a second acknowledgment, in which he said he will personally take care of enforcing the speed of buses by TEC.

It is time because it has been 12 weeks since the petition was presented and it is not yet say they respect all. Moreover, it remains to deal with the trucks, cars and motorbikes.

Extension Industrial Park. What impacts to the Rue St. Roch? Following

As you probably know, the proposal to extend the zoning of Perwez was the subject of a proposal against the part of the municipal opposition.

Since it also has an impact on traffic Rue Saint Roch, we asked them to explain in greater detail their project.

Below is their proposal.

to you to get an opinion on the best solution.

One thing is sure, whatever The project requires concrete action quickly so that traffic in the Rue Saint Roch is only local.

----- Here is a transcript of the text was communicated to us:

Dear, January 23, 2008

Following our pleasant interview dated Sunday, December 9, we would like first to thank you for your hospitality and for giving us the opportunity to expose minority views on the issue of road access through the extension of the zoning of Perwez.

We would send you the brief summary below, subject to a comprehensive reflection on the entire territory Perwerzien.

In view of the findings, the majority is embarking on an expansion of 55 ha for a zoning which currently has thirty. It is also necessary to take account of the areas that will be allowances for completion of road access. Most

account draw a road between the road from Charleroi to height of the new roundabout close to the real estate agency IMMOBILIER VILLAGES, to reach back bypassing the zoning of lumber in it.

The minority sees several drawbacks to such a route that can be summarized briefly as follows:

- considerable damage in terms of agriculture due to cross large blocks of culture threatening at least two major agricultural enterprises;
- environmental damage due to crossing a protected environment for its biodiversity and as a result of taking a boat from the small existing wood;
- damage to the countryside and the friendliness of the village of Saint-Trond Thorembais, due to the encirclement of the village by a large road cartage and eventual drilling of a tunnel under the street of the Interior;
- eventually phenomenon "faubourisation" of the village, which is bound with the entity body of Perwez

As we have had the honor to explain the draft borrows the current minority station equipment in-service Aische Refail, extends its route on the concrete roads currently existing dual-band, forks, by the way consolidation towards the rear of the zoning, based on a new route that will take traffic on the inner loop of the current zoning, culminating in height of the new roundabout that the majority has provided before the building SPACE MODE. This proposal generates only the creation of approximately 600 m of new roads and release pattern of a similar distance from existing roads, limiting the same time the impact on the area.

The reasoning is as follows: There are currently

three core penetration in the entity of Perwez:
- Chaussée de Wavre, which receives traffic from the highway E 411, and one from Jodoigne and E 40;
- Avenue Wilmart which receives traffic from Eghezée
- Street and Mont Saint-Roch, who receive traffic "flight" of the current output or input in unofficial Aische Refail. Two of these axes are critical situations: the Wavre road, due to its saturation at peak hours, the streets of Mont Saint Roch and, due to inadequate roads and the residential character of neighborhoods to receive a carting heavy or large.

The minority notes that the draft of the majority creates a loop between a place already posing problems of saturation (IMMO VILLAGES) and zoning. If the planned route will ease the flow between fact and IMMO VILLAGES roundabout Thorembais, carting the minimum estimated additional 100 trucks, 700 cars per day, will nevertheless go through the new roundabout created at the fashion area, already very busy place during peak hours.

In practice, the service road is served by main roads congested, there is no sharing of the traffic flow.

level of statutory compensation required by the extension project, the project currently proposed is no improvement to the neighborhoods and the Mont St Roch, but may instead lead to additional research will access roads parallel to the highway, specifically by such neighborhoods.

Instead, the draft of the minority is a new axis of penetration which is distributed in three separate streams, to Jodoigne, Perwez to center, to Eghezée.

It is indeed a new piercing, which has the advantage of providing services to the industrial zone without crossing any urbanized area or destroy important agricultural area.

The minority also believes that this new alignment justifies the granting of compensation, mandatory establishment of zoning under the law, which could specifically be found in adequate facilities specific to district Saint-Roch Mont
There would in fact no more practical to use these roads as a shortcut to illegally access to the freeway, or out;

The minority believes that, in addition to urban development could be achieved by compensation to completely define these areas as residential, adequate signage (limited tonnage, except local traffic controls and why not a fixed camera ...) and an active policy of repression are likely to alter patterns of transporters and drivers who currently use these roads.

Inevitably, the creation a new release at the height of the zoning, will also cause a discharge portion of the highway exit EGHEZEE, especially, a discharge of traffic that currently mark the old access road Perwez by Aische.

If the path is less than perfect implementation of a new freeway exit to the right of zoning, the project deserves to be currently feasible, and correspond to repairs of roads of access to station service, the MET will undertake anyway after reconstruction of the new stations.

There is therefore also a substantial saving of public funds.

Moreover, the constitution and the culmination of a file on a new exit, take many years before ending provides no immediate solution to problems that have arisen.

We offer below a summary table of the various arguments and a plan summary that has been done to support the presentation held in the municipal council (already sent by mail).

We wish you good reception of these and remain at your disposal.

On behalf of the agents of the Minority,

Jean-Marc Aldric

MAJORITY PROPOSES (DRC)

* an extension of 55 ha for a zoning which currently has thirty

* a road between the road Charleroi up to the new roundabout close to the real estate agency IMMOBILIER VILLAGES, to join the rear of the zoning by-passing the kindling

- considerable damage in terms of agricultural
- environmental damage due to crossing a protected environment
- damage to the countryside and the friendliness of the village of Saint-Trond Thorembais,
- encirclement of the village by a road carting big and boring a tunnel under any street of the Interior;
- eventually phenomenon "faubourisation" the village, which is bound with the entity body of Perwez
- no sharing of circulatory flow
- no compensation and opportunities for improvements to St Roch and MONT

THE PROPOSED MINORITY (MR, PS, Ecolo)

a road that takes the existing equipment of the service station in Aische Refail, extends its route on the road concrete dual band currently existing forks, by the way of consolidation, the zoning back to lead up to the new roundabout that the majority has provided before the building SPACE MODE in combination with a moderate expansion of the existing zoning

The advantages are:

- a new axis of penetration which is distributed in three separate streams, to Jodoigne, Perwez to center, to Eghezée.
- provide services to the industrial zone without crossing any urbanized area or destroy important agricultural area
- compensation in the development of portals designed to make fully residential and the roads of Mount St. Roch.
- in addition to urban development, adequate signage (limited tonnage, except local traffic controls and why not a fixed camera ...) and an active policy of repression
- repair works of roads for access to the service station that the MET will undertake anyway after reconstruction of the new stations, substantial saving of public funds.
- Protection of small wood and biodiversity
- Preserving the rural character of St THOREMBAIS TRUIDEN
